Decennial celebrations of the Bala Yaksha Koota, Kadri, will be organised at the Kadri Sri Manjunatha temple from December 12 to 16.
Kadri Bala Yaksha Koota decennial celebrations committee convener Yelluru Ramachandra Bhat told reporters at the Patrika Bhavan on Tuesday that the inaugural function will be held at Kadri temple Rajangana at 6 pm on December 12. Alva’s Education Foundation chairman M Mohan Alva will inaugurate the programme. Sri Kshetra Kadri Management committee chairman Dr A J Shetty will be present.
Prior to the formal programme, ‘Yaksha Hasya Sinchana’ will be presented by Dinesh Kodapadavu and team from 4 pm. The commemoration of the Kadri Ramachandra Devadiga will be at 7 pm. The Yakshagana episode ‘Sudarshana Garvabhanga’ will be performed by child artistes at 7.30 pm.
On December 13, 14 and 15, various Yakshagana episodes will be performed from 5 pm.
On December 16, students of Krishnaraja Nandalike will perform a classical music programme from 10 am. Yakshagana episode ‘Shakrari Kalaga’ will be performed by Madhyama Mitra Vrinda from 2 pm. Child artistes will perform at 4 pm.
The valedictory will be held at 6 pm. Entrepreneur Sripathi Bhat will preside. Scholar Dr M Prabhakar Joshi will deliver the valedictory address.
Yakshagana artiste K Govind Bhat, K L Kundanthaya, Ujire Ashok Bhat and Dayananda Kodikal will be awarded the ‘Bala Yaksha Koota Dashamanotsava Gaurava’. Krishnaraja Nandalike and Gangadhar Shettigar will be felicitated on the occasion.
The commemoration of Kadri Vishnu will also be held. The Yakshagana episode ‘Mahiravana Kalaga’ will be performed from 7.30 pm.
