Sunil Chatra (42), one of the partners of Sri Durgamba Motors, was killed in an accident at Karur in Tamil Nadu on Friday.
After celebrating Ganesha festival with family members at Kundapur on Thursday, he had left for Karur to inspect the new buses that are getting ready at bus body coach factory at Karur. The accident occurred when the driver of the car in which he was travelling lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned and hit a retaining wall beside the road killing \Chatra on the spot. The car driver’s condition is said to be serious.
Chatra was the son of Kamalashile Brahmi Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple Dharmadarshi Shettipal Sachidananda Chatra. After his college education, he joined his father in the transport business and had been looking after inter-state transport business. Sri Durgamba Motors has more than 650 buses in Karnataka and other states. His final rites are likely to be held at the family house at Hallihole on Sunday.
