A 62-year-old man has been arrested for reportedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Chikkaballapur district.
The Manchenahalli police identified the suspect as Gangadharappa.
He repeatedly indulged in the act for the last four days at his house. He offered chocolates to the victim and took her to his house, said the police.
The victim had complained of abdominal pain but hadn't disclosed Gangadharappa's act.
On Monday evening, local residents spotted him entering his house with the victim and locking it from inside. The victim's family members rushed there on being alerted and made Gangadharappa open the door. The victim kept weeping and narrated her ordeal, added the police.
He has been booked under the provision of Pocso Act.
