Three passengers in an autorickshaw had a miraculous escape when a wild elephant attacked the auto in which they were travelling in, at Aalithopu, near Siddapura on Saturday.
They were travelling to Siddapura from Bajekolli when the wild elephant attacked them.
The scared auto driver Mohammed, and his passengers Sethuram and Balakrishna fled the spot.
The elephant has thrown the autorickshaw inside a coffee estate. The auto has been completely damaged.
In another incident, an elephant attacked a man at Pallakere in Guhya village. The man who was attacked, identified as Kitta, is injured. A herd of 15 elephants have been camping in the village for the last one week.
Electrocuted
An 80-year-old woman was electrocuted at K Badaga in Madikeri on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Machavva. She came in contact with a live wire when she accidentally slipped and fell.
