Dedicated to the memory of Sufi Shahid
The Uroos is dedicated to the memory of Sufi Shahid who has been laid to rest in the Dargah Shareef.
The people in the region make vows at the Uroos to get cured of diseases. Silver articles, milk and ghee are offered by the devotees for the fulfilment of vows.
The dargah has been running a home for children from economically backward families and for the destitute.
The mosque in the premises of the dargah provides space to perform namaz for thousands of worshippers at a time.
The dargah of Saint Syed Hassan Sakhafi, from the lineage of Prophet Muhammed, is also situated in the vicinity.
Both the dargahs are now been reconstructed and there has been an increase in the number of devotees, year by year.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, precautionary measures are being taken by the health department. Covid-19 tests are done for the people who come to Emmemadu from Kerala for the Uroos.
