Chitradurga: The Chitradurga Rural Police have registered a FIR against Shimoga BJP candidate B Y Raghavendra on the charge of using Bhovi Gurupeeta for political purpose and thus violating model code of conduct.

Raghavendra had visited the Mutt on Saturday and held a meeting with some seers. It is alleged in the FIR that Raghavendra misused the religious place and he campaigned without obtaining prior permission.

Raghavendra had stated that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is a “Dharma Yuddha” between “national” and “anti-national” forces. The election officials had lodged a complaint based on the video clipping of his speech.
