Precautionary measures should be taken to ensure that there are no road accidents, said RTO Saundarya.

Speaking at the valedictory of the Road Safety Week organised at RTO office, she said that all drivers should follow traffic rules to check accidents. On an average 1.50 lakh people die in road accidents in the country in a year.

She said that rash driving, riding without wearing helmets, driving without wearing seat belts and speaking over the phone while driving are some of the reasons for road accidents.
