Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) Praveen Sood stated that forensic laboratory would be set up in each district of Karnataka so that results of evidential sample tests would be out soon and it would help police to find the culprits quickly.
Speaking to media persons on Friday, he said that the dearth of forensic laboratories in the state is delaying the results of samples that are vital for the investigation of crimes to collect evidence.
Many times, police have to wait for more than a year to get the test report. So, the set up of laboratory in each district will reduce the period of sample test report drastically and investigation officers may get it in a month. The government is also strengthening forensic laboratory system," he said.
He added that he has directed police to keep a close watch over illegal mining activities, clubs etc. He also claimed that police have done well in cases related to drug abuse.
