The state government on Friday extended the term of the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes headed by K Jayaprakash Hegde up to January 31, 2024.
Hegde’s term was to end on Saturday. The extension virtually means that Hegde gets more time to submit to the government findings of the Socio-Economic and Educational Survey, also known as the caste census.
