Revenue Minister R V Deshpande on Wednesday said that the State government issued a notification on June 26 forming the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Authority (NKA).

"The previous Congress government had decided to form the NKA. However, the NKA has been formed now. Steps were taken to celebrate Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti in 2017.

"It is the duty to recall works taken up by Kempegowda for the development of the land. The NKA will work to protect the tradition of Kempegowda," he said.

Deshpande did not find the allegations that the government was yet to take off to be true.

"The coalition government is strong and is discharging duties with more responsibility. The government will complete its tenure of five years," he said.

"Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has fixed the date for presenting the budget. He has clarified that he won't change any programme included in the budget presented by former chief minister Siddaramaiah. A committee has been formed to complete Common Minimum Programme (CMP). The committee will hold the third meeting on June 29 to finalise the CMP," he said.
