Eyebrows were raised when JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda was spotted at the Kumara Krupa guest house on Sunday, ahead of the coordination committee meeting of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government.
Gowda’s presence at the guest house surprised many as he is not a member of the committee. The JD(S) patriarch, who has been attacked by the opposition for his continued “intervention” in the coalition government, however clarified that he had come to the guest house to use the toilet and meet his party leader Danish Ali.
“I came here for two reasons. I had to use the bathroom and meet Danish Ali, who is staying here. I had not met Ali after he came to Bengaluru. My visit has nothing to do with the coordination committee meeting,” he added.
Gowda denied that he met any of the Congress leaders, including K C Venugopal. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy entered the guest house a few minutes after his father’s exit.
