The guest lecturers at DACG Government Polytechnic have not been paid for the last one-and-a-half years. All the efforts to reach out to the authorities to release the pending salary has gone in vain.
The college offers six diploma courses. There are eight guest lecturers in the college working in the computer science and electronics-communication department. They are struggling without salary.
An aggrieved lecturer said, “We have been engaged in teaching and other works. We have submitted a memorandum to the authorities concerned. The issue has been brought to the notice of the MLA as well.”
“How can we live without salary. None are listening to our woes,” said another lecturer.
An official from the college said, “Guest lecturers are paid Rs 8,000 per month. The guest lecturers in several polytechnic colleges are not paid for the last few months. The technical education directorate has not released the amount.”
