The government would soon issue guidelines on preparation and distribution of prasada at religious places, after consultation with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Muzrai Minister P T Parmeshwar Naik said on Sunday.
This follows repeated untoward incidents related to consumption of prasada being reported in the state, the minister said.
Naik also referred to the recent incident of food poisoning after prasada was served at a temple in Chikkaballapur district, which claimed two lives and left several others critically ill.
Measures would be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur, Naik said.
Temples had been categorised into A, B and C groups, based on their income, the minister said. The government was contemplating towards utilising the income for the development of temples in group C. It would come out with a Bill in this connection, he said.
