"Human values are under threat in the present scenario. Several experts also have expressed fear that human values will not survive" said theatre person Prasanna.

After inaugurating the Bahuroopi-2019, the national theatre festival organised by Rangayana, at Vanaranga, here, on Saturday, he said, "Theatre will help in creating role models to face the challenges and to save human values. From the past several decades, Kannada theatre has achieved progress in various aspects. The theatre, which was the only a medium of entertainment, has today touched various fields in society and has achieved success".

Even Ranganaya was conceptualised with the same intention. "Today Rangayana has its own social responsibility. At present theatre is working to bring back the balance in the field, which was destroyed due to various reasons," he said.

"To maintain the balance and to keep theatre art alive, several theatres are run with the help of government and social organisations. Rangayana, the experiment which was started in Mysuru has reached five places in Karnataka. In future, all these theatres will be successful," he said.

He said, instead of searching for truth, science and inventions were creating gadgets to make lives easy. "Leading a life with efforts is natural. Life will be meaningful only when we lead a life with our efforts. The mechanised life is destroying us. Science, which should be used to find out truth, has turned to technology, which is destroying the nature," he rued.

Joint Director of Rangayana V N Mallikarjunaswamy and Director of Rangayana Bhageerathi Bai Kadam were present.
