The first ‘Hunnime Arathi’ puja to River Hemavathi was held on the banks of the river in Kodlipete.

Kirikodli Mutt pontiff Sadashiva Swami said, “We cannot live without sources of water. Offering puja to the river is nothing but thanking the river for helping in the livelihood of the people. We have been using water from River Hemavathi for the last several centuries. The ‘Hunnime Arathi’ will be observed on every full moon day.”

Kallu Mutt pontiff Mahantha Swami, Kodlipete Veerashaiva Samaja president B K Yathish, Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha district honorary president Kantaraj and others were present.
