The JD(S) will support the Bharat bandh called by the Congress on September 10, state party president A H Vishwanath said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, he said party leaders and workers would stage a protest in front of Town Hall in Bengaluru, while demonstrations would be held in all districts against steep hike in fuel prices.
While party supremo H D Deve Gowda will take part in the protest in New Delhi, Vishwanath, said he would take part in the bandh in Mysuru.
Taking a swipe at the BJP leaders for not staging protests against price rise, Vishwanath said the saffron party leaders had turned a blind eye towards the sufferings of the common man.
Vishwanath said the Centre was misusing agencies like Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to target Congress and JD(S) leaders.
"Not just the politicians, the Centre is also targeting writers and scholars. The coalition government will complete its term at all costs and nobody can destabilise the government," he added.
