Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan has expressed confidence that Karnataka will further release water from Cauvery. "We will again demand the release of 5000 cusecs of water from Karnataka...We will appeal to the Supreme Court and they will direct the Karnataka government."

Bandh gets mixed response in Davangere
State-wide bandh called by various pro-Kannada organisations evoked mixed response in Davangere on Friday. Activists of various organisations took out bike rally from Jayadeva circle raising slogans against the state government and the Centre.
Police detained them when they tried to halt bus service. Though the number of passengers was less, buses plied on roads. Most schools and colleges functioned. Some commercial establishments remained shut fearing untoward Incidents and others remained open. The movement of vehicles was almost normal.
