As there has been an increase in Covid-19 cases in a majority of the districts in the state, the district administration of Kodagu has also taken up necessary measures to control the second wave of Covid-19, said Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal.
People should compulsorily wear masks, follow social distancing and undergo Covid-19 tests in case of symptoms, she said.
“Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine should get the same,” she added.
Expressing her concern over the spread of Covid-19 in crowded places such as functions and festivals, the deputy commissioner asked people not to visit crowded places.
She further said, “In open spaces, the number of people at the gatherings should not cross 500 and not more than 200 people can gather in auditoriums. Family functions such as birthday celebrations should not have gatherings of people more than 100 and not more than 50 people can gather in cremations if it is in closed space and 100 people in open space. Not more than 500 people can take part in political gatherings.”
Those who come from Kerala and Maharastra should mandatorily produce Covid-19 negative report as per RT-PCR tests. The report should be produced at the border areas, she said.
People should use precautionary measures such as the usage of masks, sanitisers and maintain social distancing, said Charulata Somal.
