Minor Irrigation Minister C S Puttaraju of the JD(S) hit out at Congress leaders for undermining Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
“Congress leaders should know that we didn’t go to anybody’s door begging for power and the CM’s post. In 2006, we had a government with the BJP and Kumaraswamy did well then.
Congress leaders said they’d give unconditional support to Kumaraswamy becoming CM. But now, we know the kind of pressure they’re putting on him. For us, Kumaraswamy is in our blood and he’s our CM,” he said.
Asked if he was insinuating a possible shift in the JD(S) toward the BJP, Puttaraju said: “That’s a decision our party leadership will make.”
