The state government has urged the Ministry of Rural Development to release pending wage grants under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
In a letter to the ministry dated October 11, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma said wage releases to Karnataka are due since August 29 amounting to Rs 478.46 crore. As of October 16, the dues are Rs 540 crore, RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge said.
