MLC Ayanur Manjunath, MLA C T Ravi and Pallavi C Ravi take part in the inauguration of the quarterly convention of anganwadi and Asha workers at Chikkamagaluru on Sunday.

MLC Ayanur Manjunath promised to draw the attention of the government towards the problems of anganwadi and Asha workers in the upcoming budget session.

He was speaking during the quarterly regional meet of state anganwadi workers and assistants association, organised in association with the state Asha Workers Mazdur Sangh at Kuvempu Kalamandira, in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday.

“About 20% of the total population of the state comprises of workers from the organised and unorganised sector. The Asha workers are at the mercy of doctors and nurses at the primary health centres. Their problems are neither addressed by the Central government nor by the state government,” said Manjunath.
