Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday received support from his cabinet colleague and Congress party leader N H Shivashankar Reddy in presenting a new full-fledged budget
"It is inevitable to present the full-fledged budget for the coalition government," Reddy, who holds the Agriculture portfolio, told reporters in Chikkaballapur.
Reddy has been elected from Gowribidanur Assembly constituency for five consecutive terms. He was Deputy Speaker during the previous period of the Legislative Assembly.
"The Congress party is not in power. Moreover, 100 members have been newly elected to the Assembly. Presenting the full-fledged budget responding to their needs is inevitable," Reddy remarked and blamed the media for blowing the issue out of proportion.
MLA Dr K Sudhakar said that he would sit for a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in Vidhana Soudha on July 2 if the priority was not given to Kannadigas in Cauvery Water Management Authority.
