Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to question himself in order to discover the ultimate truth, said writer and critic Lakshmisha Tolpadi.
“The melancholy of understanding the self helped him understand the beauty of creation,” he stressed.
Tolpadi was delivering a special lecture as a part of the ‘Remembering Yugapurusha Paramahamsa Ramakrishna – An Exhibition and Reminiscences’. The programme was organised at the Ravindra Kalabhavana by English Association of University College.
“The answer given by Ramakrishna Paramahamsa to his disciple Narendra shows the height of the former’s knowledge,” said the critic.
Principal Dr Uday Kumar M A inaugurated the exhibition on Paramahamsa. He stressed on the importance of academics.
English Association coordinator Prof Pattabhirama Somayaji spoke on the importance of knowing and understanding the lives of great men like Paramahamsa.
A paper on Paramahamsa was presented by Harshith of II BA. Chelsea and Lavita read two parables.
