Stage set for launch of National Youth Festival

Amid elaborate security arrangements and other preparations, stage is set in Hubballi for the inauguration of the five-day National Youth Festival.

For the 75-minute ceremony in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the cultural extravaganza, the Railway Sports Ground is hosting thousands of people. Cultural march past, Yoga performance and Mallakamb show will also be held at the inauguration programme.

Heavy security arrangements are made especially in and around the NYF inauguration venue, and the road from the airport to the venue where the prime minister's motorcade will move. Banners and hoardings are displayed on Gokul Road, Club Road and other areas, to welcome Modi.

Modi will inaugurate the festival at 4 pm at Railway Sports Ground, which will be attended by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, CM Basavaraj Bommai, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Anurag Singh Thakur, among others

Meeta R Lochan, secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs said that more than 30,000 young people will attend the inaugural function and the five-day event will see the attendance of over 7,500 youth delegates from India
