The police have intensified probe into the suspicious death of Shiroor seer Lakshmivarateertha Swami.

Though it is said that the DVR of a CCTV camera of Shiroor main mutt was found in Swarna river on Wednesday, the police have not confirmed the same.

It is said that, with the help of divers, the police had carried out a search operation in the river near the mutt.

On the other hand, daily pooja rituals at the Shiroor original mutt commenced on Wednesday. The deity was offered ‘akki naivedya,’ said sources in the mutt.

After the death of the seer, the police have cordoned off the main mutt. The police have allowed daily pooja in the morning and evening.

The entry of devotees inside the mutt is prohibited. Only two priests, one staff member and another staffer for cleaning work are allowed inside the mutt.
