Residents flay felling of trees

The local residents have alleged that trees have been felled illegally in Maragodu.

The tree smugglers have misused the lockdown period to fell the trees inside coffee estates and paisari land.

Valuable wooden logs have been sold. Trees inside the forest too have been felled, they alleged.

The forest department has failed to initiate action against the smugglers, they added.
