Heavy rain continued to lash Sringeri and Kalasa on Tuesday.
Kigga received the highest amount of rainfall (196 mm) followed by Kerekatte (155.4 mm) and Sringeri (139 mm).
A huge boulder fell on Vitlapura road in Kunthoor village and disrupted the movement of vehicles.
River Tunga is swollen in Sringeri. Kappeshankara temple in Sringeri is inundated. All the rivulets are overflowing in the district.
The waterlogged Keremane, Kikre road disrupted the movement of vehicles.
The rain in Kalasa threw normal life out of gear and has affected the farming activities. Kalasa has received 70 inches of rainfall since January.
The arecanut and coffee growers are facing the threat of fruit rot disease affecting the plants. Even the pepper vines are likely to be affected with ‘soragu roga’ (bacterial wilt).
