The single-point agenda of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) is to help bring the BJP to power, former president of Bajrang Dal Mahendra Kumar said on Sunday.

“People from backward classes and SC/ST are used as pawns by members of the Sangh Parivar, who provoke the youth from poor and backward communities to trigger unrest. When violence breaks out, however, the leaders disappear. It is the youth from the backward communities who go to jail,” Mahendra Kumar stressed at the ‘Jana Nudi’ convention organised by Abhimata at Shanti Kiran.

“The BJP leaders who come to power enjoy the privileges while the workers of the Hindu organisations get many cases filed against them,” he added.

Mahendra Kumar admitted that while in the Bajrang Dal he had an aversion to progressive thinking people. “After exiting the Sangha, I realised that the resentment towards a person because of his caste or religion is an act of treason,” he stressed.

“The RSS works against the principles of the Hindu Dharma. It does not have any solution to the problems of the Hindu society. Ironically, anyone who raises a voice for Dalits is declared anti-RSS. The Sangha is neither pro-Hindu nor pro-Dalit. It is like an intoxicant, its addiction is very difficult to get out of,” he opined, and said that the RSS’ practice of untouchability led him to quit the organisation.

Advocate Sudhir Maroli said that it is important to observe the birth anniversaries of Poet Kuvempu, reformer Narayana Guru, Swamy Vivekananda or all these celebrations would be hijacked by Sangh Parivar.

“The Sangh Parivar is full of contradictions. They even defend corruption by asking why only Jaffer Sharief and Abbas should enjoy the spoils of bribery,'' said Maroli.

Niket Raj Mourya said there are many good orators in the Sangh Parivar. Unfortunately, they use their skills to unleash hatred between communities, he added.
