A day after Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy threatened to resign, one more Congress leader, former minister Basavaraj Rayareddi, took potshots at him for his “inferiority complex.”
Rayareddi, who is known to be Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah’s confidant, referred to why Kumaraswamy was the chief minister in the first place.
“The coalition was formed due to inevitable circumstances. To keep the communal BJP out of power, the Congress had to sacrifice. We’ve surrendered to the JD(S). Kumaraswamy should recognise the Congress’ greatness and generosity - a party of 80 MLAs supported a party that has only 37,” Rayareddi told reporters.
He asked Kumaraswamy to stop throwing tantrums. “It’s wrong to keep saying he’ll resign for small things. He should stop talking about resignation or that he works like a clerk. Why does he have inferiority complex? He’s the chierf minister. He should show leadership.”
The Lingayat leader also chided Kumaraswamy for asking the Congress to keep its MLAs under control.“What our MLAs said was correct. I also say that Siddaramaiah should become the chief minister again. He’s one of the best chief ministers Karnataka has had after H D Deve Gowda,” he said.
