Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swami who was admitted to hospital on January 3 to prevent infections was shifted back to the mutt at 3.50 am on Wednesday.

Devotees who thronged the mutt to see the seer were allowed to see him through a window on Wednesday evening. A team of doctors of the Siddaganga Hospital are treating him in his room in the old mutt.

Dr Paramesh of Siddaganga Hospital termed the seer’s health as ‘stable’. “His infection has come down. The Swami, on Tuesday night, was adamant that he should be taken back to the mutt. So, he was shifted from the hospital,” he told reporters.

“The plan was to shift the seer back to the mutt on Wednesday evening or Thursday. But the seer was insistent. He is being given the same treatment as in the hospital here at the mutt,” Dr Paramesh added.

“Swami is well and devotees need not worry. Please don’t heed rumours,” appealed junior seer of the mutt Siddalinga Swami to the seer’s devotees.

Nonanvinakere Kadasiddeshwara Mutt seer Karivrushabendra Swami, Scion of the Mysuru royal family Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and MLA H K Patil visited the seer.
