Minister H D Revanna said on Thursday that Siddaramaiah would have stated that he (Revanna) was eligible for the CM’s post, out of affection towards me.
“He is a well-wisher and I am a fan of his,” Revanna said.
He was speaking to reporters at Holenarasipur in the district. The minister said, “I will not react to his opinion. As Kumaraswamy is the chief minister, there is no question of my becoming CM. I will not compete with him (HDK), when he is in power. I don’t know in what context he has tweeted this. However he has been my well-wisher for several years”.
Revanna clarified, “The CM’s post is not vacant in the state. There is no question of we brothers fighting for the post”.
Commenting on the controversy over Prajwal Revanna’s election affidavit, he said, “As per the Election Commission guidelines, once the returning officer accepts the nomination, there is no question of rejecting it. It can be questioned in the court. I am not aware on what basis the Election Commission is acting. I am not worried. A few persons are intentionally creating confusions”.
