Sode Vadiraj Mutt seer Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swami has appointed the in-charge for the Shiroor Mutt to take care of the Mutt affairs until a successor to the Shiroor Mutt is appointed.
Subramanya Bhat is appointed as the in-charge of Shiroor Mutt. Bhat is the former manager of the Shiroor Mutt and is a close associate of the Sode Vadiraj Mutt seer. The main purpose of the appointment is to look into and calculate the assets of the Shiroor Mutt. Bhat has been working for the Shiroor Mutt for several years. As a result, he can easily find access to the information on Shiroor Mutt’s property.
The daily prayers, at the original Mutt in Shiroor, are carried out as usual. The daily pooja is held in the morning from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 6 pm. A local priest is in charge of the daily pooja.
Bhat is taking care of the payments to be made to the workers in the Mutt. The cattle in the Mutt are looked after by the Mutt workers.
It is said that Shiroor Mutt had nearly 2,000 acres of land under its control 40 years ago, which is now been reduced to 200 acres. The late seer had offered the land on lease to industrialists and private organisations on charity.
The police continue the custody of the Mutt and security has also been extended at the Mutt.
