Fear has gripped the residents in Mathur and Harihara after a tiger was spotted on Monday.

On Sunday, a tiger was caught at Manchalli, after it attacked and killed two persons.

A student, on spotting the tiger at Mathur village, had collapsed on Monday morning. The student has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Sarvadhaivatha PU College student Raksha, had spotted a tiger, while she was walking towards the college, at 7.30 am.

The tiger had crossed the road from a coffee estate. On noticing the tiger, she had run from the spot and fell on the road.

Later, she was shifted to the community health centre at Gonikoppa. She has been shifted to a hospital in Mysuru for further treatment.

The tiger was spotted on Birunani-T Shettigeri Main Road at 5.15 pm as well.

In Harihara, two cattle have lost their lives in a tiger attack. A cattle belonging to Dekamada Pushpa was killed in a tiger attack on Monday morning.

The forest department officials have continued the operation to capture the tiger. A cage has been placed at Harihara to capture the tiger.

A drive to capture the tiger was taken up in Srimangala as well.
