'Take precautions to check natural calamities'

MLA M P Appachu Ranjan said that precautionary measures should be initiated to check natural calamities.

Speaking at a workshop on ‘Strategies for disaster management: A multidisciplinary approach’ at Government First Grade College recently, he said the officials should be cautious if there was any warning of heavy rain. Kodagu has incurred a huge loss in the natural calamity that wreaked havoc in the district last year. All should join hands in rebuilding Kodagu district, he appealed.

National Centre for Earth Science Studies retired scientist Dr Srikumar Chattopadhyaya explained the formation of the earth, earthquakes and other natural calamities.
