Primary and Secondary Education Minister N Mahesh on Thursday said that the transfer process of government primary and secondary school teachers would begin in a fortnight.
Replying to BJP's Tara Anuradha in the Council, Mahesh said 10 petitions had been filed before the high court seeking a stay on the transfers.
While three cases had been settled, the remaining seven cases would be settled in a day or two, he added.
The minister said amendments would be made to the Karnataka State Civil Services (Regulation of Transfer of Teachers) (Amendment) Act, 2017. Mahesh said the minimum service period to apply for teachers' transfers would be reduced from 5 years to 3 years.
