An undertrial reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at District Prison here, on Sunday. Police have identified the deceased as Amaranath, 32, from Kidiyur village.
Amaraanth hanged himself from the hook of a fan at Conference Hall in the prison.
Hiriyadka police have registered a case. Amarnath was facing charges of sexual assault and atrocity against dalit, which were registered at Women’s Police Station in Udupi.
