Saying that the incident between him and Hosapete MLA Anand Singh at Eagleton Resort a minor one, Kampli MLA J N Ganesh, who was granted bail in the assault case, on Saturday said an unseen hand had blown the incident out of proportion to further his interest.

Speaking to reporters at the residence of KPCC vice president Suryanarayana Reddy here, Ganesh said, “There was no need to give importance to the incident. I will not talk about the role played by Hagaribommanahalli MLA Bheema Naik in the incident. I cannot do so owing to the legal hurdles, he added.

Reddy had done good work as MLA. I will take his advice and work for the development of the constituency, Ganesh said.

Suryanarayana Reddy said that he would urge the party leadership to withdraw the decision to expel Ganesh from the primary membership of the party. “I will urge CLP leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and Bellary MP V S Ugrappa to bring in a truce between the legislators Anand Singh and J N Ganesh,” Reddy said.

Ganesh was arrested in February on charges of attempt to murder for assaulting Vijayanagara MLA Anand Singh at Eagleton Resort at Bidadi on the outskirts of the city. The legislator was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday.
