A village accountant and a librarian at the Hejamady Gram Panchayat were arrested under the Pocso Act and remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.
According to the police, the accused village accountant Kumaraswamy and the librarian Kishori had harassed a minor. The librarian had apparently compelled the minor to 'cooperate' with the village accountant.
Kumaraswamy had collected the mobile number of the minor who had approached him to get a mistake in property documents rectified. He reportedly misbehaved with her, touching her inappropriately. He also invited her to have lunch with him and sent her obscene messages.
The minor complained to the Padubidri police, who have arrested Kumaraswamy and the librarian for supporting the accountant.
The 27-year-old Kumaraswamy is a native of Mandya district and had been working in Hejamady for a year.
