A woman constable serving at Siddapura police station died in a road accident in Hunsur on Thursday. Shantamma (28), is the deceased.
Women constables Gowravva and Shantamma were on their way to Hunsur when an approaching motorbike hit the two-wheeler they were travelling in. Shantamma, who was riding the scooter, died on the spot.
Gowravva, the pillion rider, has sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru.
The bike rider Natesh (33) also succumbed to injuries he sustained in the accident. The incident took place at Kattemalalevadi.
Shantamma had joined the police department only one and a half months ago.
