Youth drowns in River Bhadra

Fire and Emergency Services Department personnel search for the body of Kiran Kotian who drowned in River Bhadra at Ambutheertha near Kalasa on Wednesday.

A youth from Mangaluru drowned in River Bhadra in Chikkamagaluru on Wednesday.

Kiran Kotian was washed away by the currents after accidentally slipping into the water at Ambutheertha near Kalasa. A native of Tumbe village in Bantwal, Kiran was working as an engineer in a private company in Mangaluru. He had visited the place with his friends. Kiran was standing on a rock when the incident took place.

In coordination with the Police Department, the Fire and Emergency Services Department personnel are conducting a search operation at Ambuteertha, Hebbole and Vasistha Teertha.

A case has been registered in Kalasa police station.
