Cong leader Sidhu, SAD’s Harsimrat Badal meet families of farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Friday separately met the families of the farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Sharing the photos of his meeting with one of the families on Twitter, Sidhu said,“Justice Delayed-Justice Denied.”
Sidhu consoled the family members of Lovepreet Singh, one of the four farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Sunday. Later, he said, “What has happened is a barbaric crime. Entire India is asking for justice. Loss of human lives can never be compensated.”

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday met family members of two farmers killed in theLakhimpurKheri violence and alleged that the BJP government wants to hide the truth by strangling democracy and run the state on the might of police.
He, however, said the days of the BJP government in the state are numbered and questioned why the government is delaying justice despite videos of the incident surfacing and witnesses recording statements.
He also took a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying he is "sleeping" despite people being killed in the state.
The former CM's statement came on a day the Uttar Pradesh Police issued a fresh notice to Union minister Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra after he failed to appear before it for questioning over the violence, which claimed lives of eight people, including four farmers.

Lakhimpur violence: SKM to hold meeting today to decide future course of action
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Thursday said that it will hold a meeting on October 8 to discuss the next course of action on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence that left four farmers dead.
The SKM, which is spearheading the farmers' agitation against the Centre's farm laws, also said that it is waiting for the arrest of Ashish Mehra, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra. (PTI)
