Former Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan was awarded Padma Bhushan posthumously on November 09. His son Chirag Paswan received the award from President Ram Nath Kovind. The Padma Awards are one of the highest civilian honours of India, announced annually on the eve of Republic Day.
