A baby gharial crocodile was rescued from a canal under Pipraich police limits in Gorakhpur on August 22.
The crocodile was later handed over to Gorakhpur zoo.
Gharial Crocodile is now slipping into the endangered species category. It is believed that the crocodile might have flowed into the canal due to the increase in water level in rivers.
