This often leads to inadequate intake making feeding one of the most difficult tasks for parents. Toddler nutrition is extremely important as an inadequate intake results in poor growth and development which can really affect a child. Here are some super easy hacks to make feeding your toddler a breeze.
1.Whole milk is rich in protein and calcium, both of which are extremely important to support the growth and development of the child during this stage of life.
2. During this phase of life, the energy levels of a toddler are very high and to support that, whole grain cereals must be included in the diet as they are not only a good source of energy, but also provide the much-needed fibre. Incorporate unprocessed cereals like whole wheat, rice, quinoa, maize, oats, millet in a toddler’s diet. You can cook them as porridge or prepare a fruit smoothie out of that to make it more appealing to your toddler.
3. Due to their high content of vitamins, minerals, water and antioxidants, fruits and vegetables are essential.
4. Eggs are a powerhouse of protein and fat-soluble vitamins.
5. The probiotics in yogurt help in better digestion.
6. Iron plays a significant role in ensuring an increase in haemoglobin count. Dark green leafy veggies and iron-fortified cereals should be included in the daily meal of a toddler.
However, never force-feed your toddler as this can make them develop a strong dislike for food. Also, don’t feed the same food everyday as they can get bored easily. Feed your toddlers right and keep them healthy and happy!
