Hello and Welcome back to DH Radio.
The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT), once commissioned, will be three times bigger than the existing one, and is designed to unravel many more secrets of the universe, including possible life in distant planets and galaxies.
The data collected from the TMT is bound to be in zillions of gigabytes and petabytes. To make sense of it all, the project office of TMT at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics here in Bengaluru, and ThoughtWorks, a global tech firm, have collaborated to develop an observatory software system for the telescope.
To understand TMT and the software system a bit more deeper, DH Radio's Rasheed Kappan speaks to Gunjan Shukla, Director, South East Asia, ThoughtWorks.
