Chinese smartphone-maker OnePlus is slated to make a big announcement next week.
The company co-founder Pete Lau took to Twitter asking fans to be stay tuned for the big reveal on March 8. Also, Lau posted a picture of the earth taken from the Moon's surface.
The image hints at the OnePlus collaboration with Hasselblad. It should be noted that National Aeronautical Space Administration (NASA) had sent the latter's Hasselblad Data Camera (HDC) onboard the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.
Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, who were the first humans to put the foot on the moon wore the Hasselblad camera to document the life on the space shuttle and on the lunar surface.
It is widely reported that the OnePlus 9 series, most probably the 9 Pro version will house the top-end Hasselband camera hardware.
In the past few years, the OnePlus has been to deliver powerful phones and industry-leading battery charging technology but lacked quality cameras. It used to release a series of software updates to improve the photography experience.
This time, the OnePlus 9 series might finally come with a potent camera that challenges the Samsung Galaxy S, Note series, and Apple iPhones.

Besides the partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus is likely to reveal the launch date of the OnePlus 9. Word on the street is that the OnePlus 8T successor is expected to debut on March 23.
Like previous years, Amazon will be the exclusive online partner to offer the next-gen OnePlus phones. The e-commerce firm has even opened a contest on Twitter. It is asking fans to guess what will be announced on March 8 and two lucky winners will get the new OnePlus phone for free.
