With less than a week left before the launch event, OnePlus has officially revealed that the OnePlus 9 will make the debut with a smartwatch.

OnePlus Watch will be more feature-rich compared to the generic fitness tracker OnePlus Band launched earlier this year in January.

"We won’t give away too much right now, but we’ll leave you with this for now: Our priority for devices that are part of the OnePlus ecosystem is to offer fashionable designs, provide seamless connectivity and deliver a best-in-class user experience. And the new OnePlus Watch is no exception," the company said.

OnePlus promises that the new smart wearable will have a stand-out design language and offer seamless connectivity with companion OnePlus-branded phones, earphones, and users will also be able to control the smart TV as well.

Also, Pete Lau, CEO also revealed that the OnePlus Watch will not run on Google Wear OS, but the company's proprietary Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).

"We believe it provides you a smooth and reliable experience while offering a great battery life, covering some of the biggest concerns we've been hearing from people looking to buy a smartwatch," Lau added.

For other details, the company has asked fans to wait for March 23 at 10:00 EDT (7:30 pm IST).

Word on the street is that the OnePlus Watch is said to come in 46mm size and feature a circular dial with an AMOLED display. It is said to come with an IP68 rating, meaning the device can sustain underwater pressure up to 1.5 meters (around five feet) for close to 30 minutes.

Inside, it is said to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 series chipset and come with an array of biometric sensors including a 24/7 heart rate monitor and SpO2 (Blood-Oxygen saturation level), sleep pattern tracker, and more. It also said to offer a long battery life of several days.
