Gaganjeet Bhullar put himself in prime position for his ninth Asian tour title as he carded a second successive six-under 65 to share the pole position with Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond after the third round of Queen’s Cup in Pattaya on Saturday.

He was seven-under through 16 holes, before he bogeyed the 17th. He narrowly missed a birdie on par-5 18th and was joint first. Bhullar has had one bogey each day.

“I kept the ball in play today. I hit a lot of fairways and a lot of greens. I just kept on giving myself a lot of birdie opportunities," said Bhullar.

Aditi shines

Aditi Ashok put herself in position for her best Major finish despite a bogey-bogey finish in the second round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in Kildeer, US on Friday.

Aditi, who was tied-31st at the 2017 Women’s PGA Championship, which is also her best Major finish, shot one-over 73 and is now lying T-21st with a 36-hole aggregate of 1-under 143.

Aditi was well on way to positioning herself in the top-10 at the halfway stage as she parred the first 15 holes and found her first birdie of the second round on the Par-4 16th hole. She finished a disappointing bogey-bogey for last two holes and dropped to 73.

Birthday girl, So Yeon Ryu, who turned 28, finished strong with birdies on 14, 15 and 17 to move into a share of the lead at 6-under par, along with first round leader Sung Hyun Park and 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Champion Brooke Henderson.

Shubhankar makes cut

Shubhankar Sharma bounced back from a first-round disappointment to make the cut at the HNA Open de France, carding a 2-under 69 in the second round.

The 21-year-old youngster, who has won twice in the ongoing European Tour season, totalled 3-over 145 to make the cut which fell at 4-over.

Earlier SSP Chawrasia (75-74) missed the cut.

Marcus Kinhult tamed Le Golf National with a stunning round of 65 that handed him a two-shot lead heading into the weekend. The Swede’s 65 was the lowest round of the week and he was 6-under after 36 holes and had just begun his third round.

Lahiri through

Bethesda (US), Jun 30 (PTI) It was not the kind of a birthday that Anirban Lahiri was looking for as he suffered two double bogeys and three other bogeys on way to a four-over 74 in the second round of the Quicken Loans National in Bethesda on Friday.

Lahiri, who had a fine three-under 67 on first day, needed pars on his last three holes to survive and make the weekend action.

Lahiri did manage to make the cut on the line at one-over 141 in tied-66th and will now be looking at strong final two rounds to make it a meaningful week.

Beau Hossler, who was runner up last week at the Travelers Championship, fired a four-under 66 to get into a share of the lead with Ryan Armour (65) and Brian Gay (64) at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.
