Speaking on India’s glorious win over Australia in Gaaba, Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara on June 2 said that the unbearable pain and body blows, endured during the match motivated him to do better.
“I think it (body blows) motivated me to do even better. Yes, I was in a bit of pain during the first couple of blows. When I was stuck 3-4 times more at the same spot, the pain was even more. At one point I was hit in my fingers, the pain was unbearable,” he said.
“Physio asked me if I want painkillers. I told him no as I don’t like taking medicines during games as it probably disturbs my concentration sometimes. I told myself that I'm getting hit but my ultimate focus is to draw the game or win the game for the country,” he added.
