Will K L Rahul's declaration of determination start a bidding war for him?

"My aim is to obviously get back into the T20 team. I've always wanted to be an all-format player, and that desire and drive haven't changed over the years. I want to still play for India in all three formats and have done that for many years," Rahul had told Star Sports recently.

And we know from his days as Punjab Kings skipper that he is more than capable to not only leading a side, but also get runs quick, something he has been accused of not being able to produce of late.

Will his determination to get back into the national T20 side spark a franchise to gamble big on him? It remains to be seen.

Players who could go for big bucks today

Quite a few marquee players are out in the auction pool this time around. here's our pick for the ones that will likely get the highest bids:

Marco Jansen: The South African has the ability to be your strike pacer, while also being your finisher. He is a player who's abilities are rarely seen in other players, with Hardik Pandya and Marcus Stoinis being the closest comparisions. As such, many teams will likely have set aside a large portion of their budget for him.

Rishabh Pant: A flamboyant Indian batsman, that can captain your side and keep the wickets? Who wouldn't want such a player?

Yuzvendra Chahal: While he hasn't been a consistent stay in the national side, Chahl is still one the primer spinners in the country, especially in the IPL.

Shreyas Iyer: Iyer seems to be a great team captain in the IPL, building teams to get to the business end of the tournament using whatever he has at his disposal. He did so in Delhi and then in Kolkata last year. Add to it his ability to bat in any situation and he is a massive assets for any team, especially those who need a captain.

Arshdeep Singh: When you are Jasprit Bumrah' deputy in T20Is, of course there will be a high demand for you. Arshdeep has been growing at a rapid pace, learning from the master himself. So locking in what is likely to be India's strike pacer in the future is not a bad idea, is it?
